Dr Anthia Rallis

MB, BS, FRANZCOG

Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Born and raised in Adelaide, Anthia completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide. During her penultimate year rotation at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Anthia developed a passion for obstetrics and gynaecology, commencing specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology shortly after.

In her final years of training at the Women’s and Children’s hospital, Anthia developed skills to care for families experiencing high risk pregnancies, or requiring such procedures as amniocentesis and surveillance ultrasound. It was here that she realised a passion for complex vaginal delivery, in particular vaginal birth after caesarean and advanced laparoscopy.

In 2011, Anthia was awarded for outstanding academic achievement in her final exams for achieving the highest score across Australia and New Zealand.

Passionate about giving balanced and non-interventional care in areas of high-risk obstetrics, Anthia specialises in vaginal birth after caesarean, vaginal breech delivery, vaginal twin delivery and care of women with previous birth trauma.

Her special interests include:

  • Reproductive health
  • Subfertility
  • General gynaecology
  • Mature women’s health
  • Gynaecological and laparoscopic surgery
  • Colposcopy

When she’s not at Belong O&G, Anthia dedicates her time assisting the Midwife Group Practice Program at WCH, teaching both medical students and GPs studying obstetrics and gynaecology, and is a member of the faculty of tutors for the Birth Masterclass - improving the skills of obstetricians around complex deliveries.

Outside of work, Anthia enjoys an active lifestyle with partner Tim and three children, Zachary, Alexis and Matisse. She has a strong connection with her Greek heritage and considers family a high priority - something which is important to her through her work.
